PALILULA AND NKC REWARDED FOR PUBLISHING

At Eighth St. Sava Book Fair, held from 28 February to 8 March in the gallery `Serbia` in Nis, organized by the graphic-publishing company "Medivest", low readership presented to twenty new titles of publishing houses, "Lagoon", "Official Gazette", "Vecernje Novosti", "Lento", "Edicija" "Logos Art," "Marso", "Book", "Logos", "Kairos", "Kuca dobre knjige" and "Parthenon" presented more than twenty new titles to the Nis readers.

Traditionally, the most successful publishers of this year's Saint Sava Book Fair were awarded. The jury for the award for "Old Niš" of the eight St. Sava Book Fair in Nis 2012 consisted of Vidosav Petrović, publicist, Ljubisa Sokolovic, editor and journalist Dusan Milosavljevic, a journalist, all members of the editorial "Niski Vesnik", awarded two equal awards for the recognition for preserving the tradition and heritage of Nis. One of the award-winning publication is the monograph book "Niska Palilula" by Jovica Vasic, published by Palilula and Cultural Centre of Nis –NKC in 2011. In the opinion of the jury stated: "Niska Palilula", Nis - city of rich historical and cultural heritage, has received another significant and beautiful edition that, in contrast to previous publications, a very inspired and graphically displays part of the city, the former neighborhoods to today's Palilula. The author Jovica Vasic has invested significant personal research efforts and succeeded to give life to variety of historical facts and documents of this Nis town part and also describes interesting stories about people and events in this region. This monograph reflects and connects past and present of Nis Palilula and is a significant contribution to the rich history of Nis.
